The Ogoni Youth Alliance for Climate Change and Sustainable Development (OYACAS) is a youth-led, community-focused organization dedicated to advancing climate justice, promoting environmental restoration, and empowering young people across Ogoniland.

Nwanam Gold Sorbari

Founder & Chairperson, Board of Trustees

Nwanam Gold Sorbari is a passionate environmental advocate, human rights defender, and youth leader from Ogoniland. Driven by a commitment to justice, sustainability, and indigenous empowerment, she founded OYACAS to give young Ogoni people a platform to participate in global and local climate conversations.

Her speeches and contributions amplify the Ogoni struggle for environmental justice, the protection of indigenous rights, and the restoration of polluted Ogoni land. Gold continues to champion youth empowerment, climate action, and sustainable development across Africa.
